Jill the Reckless

P[elham] G[renville] Wodehouse

P.G. Wodehouse (1881-1975) was an English author of humorous novels and stories. Jill the Reckless was first published in 1921 with a dust jacket designed by Blampied which was used until the 1940s. It had been published in the USA the year before by George H. Doran under the title The Little Warrior. Blampied designed the dust jacket of another of Wodehouse's novels, Love Among the Chickens.

Notes: The first edition is dated MCMXXI on the title page; a copy dated MCMXXII has been seen; most later impressions have no date. This is the jacket of the 13th printing priced at 5 shillings using a sticker over the price of 2/6d. The first edition cost 7 shillings and 6 pence in 1921.
