Henry Longfellow. Hiawatha

Carr recorded that he had published four impressions of Hiawatha by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow (1807-1882) in his History of the QTP in 1987. Four impressions are shown here. This is one of the few non-British poets that Carr published. He may have chosen Hiawatha because of the time he spent on the prairies of South Dakota where, in 1938, he met an elderly native American at a meeting of the local historical society.

Notes: This title is number 18 in the series, which probably reflects its order in which the series of small books was published. The ISBN for the first edition was allocated in January 1977. This is odd as other titles probably published before this were given serial numbers in the 80s and 90s while none of the serial numbers between 10 to 17 and 19 to 39 have been allocated to small books, or at least no small books with these numbers have been seen yet.
