The Smart Set was an American magazine that published a British version from 1901 to 1925. It changed hands several times in that period but it's last owner was Walter Hutchinson, from October 1923 until it was merged with a new title called Standard Stories, which started in July 1925. Presumably he couldn't sell it as a separate title, so the British version of the magazine effectively disappeared. Hutchinson also published his eponymous magazine and Woman, both of which printed drawings by Edmund Blampied, which is why I searched the 18 issues of The Smart Set published by Hutchinson. I found Blampied's work in four issues, none of which I have. In fact I have never seen an issue of the British version of The Smart Set outside a library. Blampied illustrated the erotic love sonnets of the Australian writer Zora Cross.
