This was the successor to Baby's Annual and for a few years became Nelson's main Annual for very young children. It was smaller than the The Chummy Book
or The Jolly Book
, which both contained 288 pages and 16 full-page colour illustrations. The first Nursery Book contained 128 pages and four original double page drawings by Blampied. The second Nursery Book contained fewer pages than the first, only 93, but also contained four original double page drawings by Blampied. The third Nursery Book contained fewer pages than the second, 88 pages, and two colour drawings by Blampied that were used in The oo Book. This could be the fourth Nursery Book but the inscription is dated 1925, so it is assumed to be the fifth year. It contained an original drawing probably not used in The Zoo Book.
