The British Army from Within

By One Who Has Served in It, E[velyn] Charles [Henry] Vivian

Evelyn Charles Henry Vivian (1882-1947) was the pseudonym of Charles Henry Cannell, an editor and writer of supernatural stories. He fought in the Boer War and was a journalist for the Daily Telegraph. I wonder why he needed so many first names in his pseudonym?

This title was one of a series of five books first published by Hodder & Stoughton in 1914 in a series called the 'Army from within'. They were also published by Doran in the USA. The series included a title called The German Army from Within by 'A British officer who has served in it', later identified as T. Burke. It was not reissued in this series, perhaps because the war with Germany had started.
