This book is only known from Blampied's personal album of dust jackets. The front panel of the jacket is illustrated below. It was first published in the USA in 1921 by Little Brown.
Charles Boardman Hawes (1889-1923) was a writer of historical novels. He died of meningitis aged 34 y after publishing two books. This novel was nominated for the Newberry Medal in 1922, the first year the prize was awarded.
