David Grew (1887-1971) was an American writer about wildlife. His books featured wild animals and horses, mostly in Canada. This story is about a man who tames a coyote. Blampied had provided internal illustrations for the third impression of The Untamed. Horses of the Wild. The fact that the American edition had a dust jacket designed by Blampied for the T. Fisher Unwin edition suggests that the British edition was the first edition.
