This is one of 15 volumes in what was called the 'Creeps series', all published between 1932 and 1936 by Philip Allan and edited by Charles Birkin (1907-1985). Blampied provided a design for the jacket of three volumes in the series, all issued in 1933: 'Terrors', 'Horrors' and 'Quakes'.
