George Crabbe: Peter Grimes
Carr reported in his History of the QTP (1987) that he had published three impressions of Peter Grimes
by George Crabbe (1754-1832). I have only seen two impressions. The second may have been rerpinted again with a slightly different colour cover, but until I see them side by side, I cannot be sure.
Benjamin Britten's opera Peter Grimes
was based on Cowper's poem The Borough

Notes: The date of publication is taken from the registration date of the ISBN. In the back of this book Carr advertised The Harpole Report, which had been taken by Frank Muir to his island on Desert Island Discs
in October 1976. Carr had bought 900 remainders for 12 pence each and was offering them at the cover price of £1.75 from his address in Kettering. He sold them all after this publicity.
