The only known copy of this map of Beadle County, South Dakota, is a framed proof in the Court House in Huron, South Dakota, on loan from the Dakotaland Museum. I thank Jennifer Littlefield of Huron Public Library for telling me about it and sending me the photograph.

MAP-BEA1: First and only edition
Publisher: J.L. Carr, 27 Mill Dale Road, Kettering
Limitation: no limitation, unknown number of sheets
Size: approx 500 x 600 mm
Colophon: sun face 1964 only, lower left corner
Proofs where: Dakotaland Museum, Huron, South Dakota on loan to Beadle County Court House, Huron
Notes: This map was probably presented by Carr during a visit to Huron in 1973. The detail shows a copyright mark © next to a small oval image of St George, the patron saint of England, slaying the dragon. This is the only of Carr's map known to have this symbol, probably as a small joke.
