Winter's Pie

The Sphere and Tatler, Ltd., Great New Street, London E.C.

Winter's Pie, published from 1912 to 1924, was advertised as the Christmas number of The Printer's Pie, which was published annually from 1903 to 1911. They were both published from the offices of The Sphere and The Tatler in aid of charities. Blampied worked for both these magazine. In 1925 Winter's Pie it became The Sketch Book and Winter's Pie and may have run until 1933. The Printer's Pie seems to have been in aid of The Printers' Pension, Almshouse and Orphan Asymum Corporation. The work of authors and artists in these annual magazines was probably given free. A drawing by Blampied has been found in only one issue, but not all have been searched. I only have the drawing, not the magazine.
