Odhams Limited, 85 to 94, Long Acre London W.C.2
The subtitle of the second series of Pan, issued in November 1919, was A journal for saints and cynics
. The first series consisted of three trial issues. Pan was initially a weekly illustrated periodical, usually with a beautiful cover (see left), but not much in the way of content: cartoons, drawings in colour (one of which was by Blampied), and brief articles with lots of short paragraphs. In August 1920 it became a monthly magazine with more pages. In July 1921 it changed its format, content and subtitle to The fiction magazine
, also published monthly. Blampied illustrated two stories in the magazine in 1922. The magazine folded in May 1924 after only 84 issues and merged with 20-Story Magazine, another of Odham's fiction magazines. I have 10 copies of the second series and will add them to this web site later, as they have lovely cover art.
