The subtitle of the second series of Pan, issued in November 1919, was
A journal for saints and cynics. The first series consisted of three trial issues. Pan was initially a weekly illustrated periodical, usually with a beautiful cover (see left), but not much in the way of content: cartoons, drawings in colour (one of which was by Blampied), and brief articles with lots of short paragraphs. In August 1920 it became a monthly magazine with more pages. In July 1921 it changed its format, content and subtitle to
The fiction magazine, also published monthly. Blampied illustrated two stories in the magazine in 1922. The magazine folded in May 1924 after only 84 issues and merged with 20-Story Magazine, another of Odham's fiction magazines. I have 10 copies of the second series and will add them to this web site later, as they have lovely cover art.
