Blampied's work appeared in all but three issues of The Bystander in 1925 and included 45 political cartoons, 7 centre-fold drawings and 5 single page drawings in colours. A drawing was used on the cover of the magazine published on 1st July and on the title page of the issue on 25th November.
One of the centre-fold drawings featured the Royal Tournament at Olympia (3rd June), two featured sailing in the Mediterranean (10th June and 15th July), and one featured skiing (2nd December), all pursuits of the readers of the magazine, but two centre-folds were fantasies of Blampied's fertile imagination The Lure of Spring
on 29th April and The moths and the flame
on 9th September.
Blampied had also seen the exotic dancer Endja Mogoül (27th May), visited Le Moulin Rouge (28th October), and seen the Review of the Folies Bergeres at the Palladium in London (28th October, see left). Egypt was a common theme, as the tomb of Tutenkhamun had been opened in 1922 and had captured people's imagination. Marianne Blampied liked the ballet; I wonder what she thought of these dancers?
