Britannia & Eve

Britannia & Eve was created in May 1929 by the merger of Britannia, a magazine mainly for men (although it had a 'Woman's section'), and Eve, which was mainly for women. It was published by the same group that issued The Sketch and The Illustrated London News. For most of the 1930's the covers of the magazine featured a painting of a beautiful young women (see left).

Only one issue of this magazine has been found to contain illustrations by Edmund Blampied. There may be more, as the publication has not been searched, but I suspect not, as it started publishing after Blampied's main period of work for magazines. However there may be work by Blampied in Eve, which started publishing in 1919.
