Sapper, drawings by Edmund Blampied (pp 147-149)
This book was published in aid of Queen Mary's Convalescent Auxiliary Hospitals for Soldiers and Sailors who have lost their limbs in the war. It contained stories by well known authors such as J.M. Barrie, E.F. Benson, John Buchan, J.E. Buckrose, Joseph Conrad and Ethel M. Dell. The artists were not credited at the front but included Lewis Baumer, Harry Rountree, Ernest Shepherd, Leonard Raven-Hill, Arthur Rackham and W. Heath Robinson.
