David Whitelaw (1875-1970) was a British author, editor and illustrator. He trained as an artist in London and Paris but changed his career to become a writer of romances and an editor of London Magazine and the Premier Magazine. He also invented games, the most well-known of which was Lexicon, a spelling card game that is still in existence.
This title is unusual in that Blampied also designed the dust jacket of a later edition published by Thomas Nelson and Sons.
