Ernest Andrew Ewart (1878-1943) was an Australian author who wrote under the pseudonym Boyd Cable. This book describes the observations of a serving officer on the efforts being made in Britain to support the First World War. It has a preface by David Lloyd George M.P., who became Prime Minister in December 1916. This is most war-like illustration by Blampied that I have found. I suspect that is based on a photograph.
