Belle K[anaris] Maniates

Belle Kanaris Maniates (1861-1931) was a Greek-American writer of romantic novels in the early 1900s that explored the clashes between the social classes. This novel was first published in the USA by Little, Brown and Company in 1915. The novel was made into a silent film starring Mary Pickford in 1918. Several of her novels including this title are available on line.
