Trapping Wild Animals in Malay Jungles

Charles Mayer

This book was first published in 1922 but the Blampied edition, described as the fourth impression, wasn't published until 1923. The new edition or impression had a frontispiece in colour and four line drawings. The book was first published in New York in 1921 by Duffield and Company. I can find out very little about Charles Mayer (1862-1927) except that he was born in New York the same year that the Prussian pianist and composer Charles Mayer died, which is an interesting coincidence. This book is an autobiographical account of his exploits while collecting animals in the Malay peninsular from a base in Singapore.
