Louise De Vere Loder
Louise de Vere Beauclerk (1869-1958) married Gerald Walter Erskine Loder, 1st Baron Wakehurst (1861-1936) a barrister and politician. In 1903 they bought Wakehurst Place, which is depicted in the panel of this plate, and developed the gardens which now cover an area of 500 acres. The house and grounds are now owned by the National Trust and leased to Kew Gardens which has built there the Millenium Seed Bank.
