Dame Margaret Boord

This plate is taken from the same copper plate as the bookplate for Ethel Margaret Boord with the name altered. The design is attributed to Robert Osmond by Horace Jones but the sepia proof in the Anthony bookplate collection in the Illinois Digital Archives is attributed to someone named Elisha Brown Bird, an American artist. This may be a confusion with Charles Bird, who worked for Messrs Bumpus.

Margaret D'Almaine Mackinlay married Sir Thomas William Boord, a Conservative politician, in 1861. She died in 1918.
