Alloa Public Library

This library was built in 1888 based on a gift of money and 7,300 volumes from Mr. John Thomson Paton (1831-1910), Managing Director of John Paton, Son & Co which owned Kilncraigs Mill in Alloa. The building was designed by John James Burnet, Son & Campbell, and also contained a gymnasium and public bath. It closed in 1986 and was reopened as a library and gymnastic centre in 1989 named after a local boxer. The building is also used to store archives. I have no idea what "Mine Fore Front" means.
